Rwanda - Gishamwana Island
In the middle of Rwanda's Lake Kivu sits the secluded Island of Gishamwana. Owned & operated by Emmanuel Rwakagara, who emphasizes biodiversity and sustainability across the island farming a variety of livestock including cow, goat & an albino rabbit!

The ecosystem and remoteness of the Island of Gishamwana provide for a unique coffee growing environment. All the coffee plants on Gishamwana are organically grown amongst the tree cover which allows for an unusually high level of shade for African coffee to produce a unique dense fruit.
While developing this coffee we strived to balance its natural sweetness with its bright citrus flavor notes. Rwanda Gishamwana is a Medium Roast, with a Bright Acidity & Medium - Light Body. Flavor notes include Sugar Cane, Lemon & Lime.
