Kirsten Meier

Kirsten Meier is a multidisciplinary artist specializing in textiles, performance, and the exploration of material culture. Her work deeply integrates objecthood and language. Recently, Meier has employed rug-making and weaving to convey narratives of womanhood, obsessions, and self-expression. Born in Brookfield, WI, she earned her BFA in 2020 from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, majoring in New Studio Practice with a minor in Art History. Meier has exhibited her work throughout Milwaukee, including at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Union Gallery, Jazz Gallery Center for the Arts, Genesis, Gluon Gallery, and the Haggerty Museum of Art. Additionally, she has served as a docent in the Art Institute of Chicago’s “Jobs at Art Museums” program.
