Kirsten Meier
Kirsten Meier is a multidisciplinary artist with a focus in textiles, performance, and the exploration of material culture. Their work deeply integrates object-hood and language. Recently, Meier has employed rug-making and weaving to convey narratives of gender, obsessions, and self-expression. Born in Brookfield, WI, she earned her BFA in 2020 from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, majoring in New Studio Practice with a minor in Art History. Meier has exhibited their work throughout Wisconsin, including Portrait Society Gallery, Jazz Gallery Center for the Arts, Allen Priebe Gallery, and Var Gallery. Additionally, she participated as a cohort in Plum Blossom Initiative’s Bridge Work cycle 06.
