John Kowalczyk

John Kowalczyk, a Chicago native, now calls Milwaukee, WI his home where he thrives as a community artist and educator. Graduating with a BFA in painting from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in 2010, John's journey in the art world began to flourish. His three-year residency with RedLine Milwaukee saw him curating gallery exhibitions, igniting his passion for community art. Transitioning to Artists Working in Education Inc., John embraced public art, leaving his mark with murals like the Mitchell Park Mural and the Doerfler Intersection Mural.

 

With a heart for nonprofit arts, John serves as the Program Director for Artists Working in Education, Inc., leveraging his extensive experience in art education and community engagement. His impact extends beyond Milwaukee; he's worked with organizations like Arts at Large and the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, leaving artistic imprints on schools and communities. Alongside his professional endeavors, John maintains an active fine art practice, showcasing his work internationally in galleries and museums, including The Museum of Wisconsin Art and The Siena Art Institute in Italy.
